Logo Cobh YAlong with Bono, Enda Kenny and the Facebooks, Twitters and Googles of the world, Cobh students were also present at the Web Summit in Dublin earlier this month. In conjunction with TechSpace, students from the YMCA STEP course were participating in a workshop to generate a potential tech product which they then developed as a concept before taking their idea out to delegates. Interviews were recorded to gauge customer demand and the video footage was edited before a representative of the team was asked on to the Enterprise Stage to Product Pitch their idea to the audience. On what was an intensive day the students acquitted themselves admirably, making a positive and memorable impression. They participated in the ESB Spark Café and listened to contributions from robotics developers, the Dropbox founder Drew Houston and the model, TV star and philanthropist Eva Longoria, as well as seeing the Taoiseach ring the bell to open the Nasdaq.

Cobh STEP supports a TechSpace that promotes digital literacy, creativity, innovation and learning through technology. For further information on this please contact us through cobhadmin@ymca-ireland.net or see www.techspace.ie
