Home-baking showed that it is making a comeback on Great Island as people young and old cooked up a storm to raise money for the Alzheimer s Tea Day on 5th May at Cobh Community Centre.
Cakes and produce donated for sale ranged from chocolate cakes and donuts to duck eggs, and more funds were raised from the excellent raffle prizes given by individuals and businesses A total of €1500 was raised on the day and funds are still coming in. Organisers, Carmel Jones and Sheila Comer, would like to thank all who helped in any way and those who braved the rain to attend and make the Community Tea Day such a success.
