Irish Water is investing €90 million to build a modern wastewater treatment scheme for Cork Lower Harbour. Currently raw sewage is discharged directly into our harbour. As part of this project, this wastewater from Cobh, Carrigaline, Crosshaven, Passage West, Monkstown, Shanbally and Ringaskiddy will be collected in pipes and pumped to a new wastewater treatment plant at Shanbally.
The Cork Lower Harbour Main Drainage Project team are hosting two public information sessions in Cobh. These will be held at:
• Commodore Hotel, Cobh from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday 8th December 2015
• Rushbrooke Tennis Club, Cobh from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday 9th December 2015
The Cobh community are invited to meet the project team who will be available to provide information about this project. Future information sessions in other Lower Harbour towns will be advertised in local newspapers when arranged.
