Cobh Ramblers FC are delighted to announce that midfielder David Hurley has re-signed for the 2020 League of Ireland season.

David initially joined our U19 side from Ringmahon Rangers in 2016, having also spent time at Tramore Athletic and Avondale as a schoolboy. He quickly impressed under Davin O’Neill, Damien Rowe and the underage coaching staff that season, winning the first of two U19 Player of the Year Awards. He made his first team debut in 2017 away to Athlone Town and has since gone on to make a total of 62 senior appearances. He was a key member of the Ramblers side that reached the 2018 EA Sports Cup Final and this season he picked up the club’s Player of the Year Award.

The 21 year old UCC student has been capped for the Irish Colleges & Universities side while also representing his college in CUFL football on occasion.

David had this to say following the announcement,

“I’m delighted to be back at St Colman’s Park for another season. There’s a strong squad being put together and I’m confident that we can be right up at the top half of the table , pushing for the play-offs and challenging come the end of the season.”

David becomes the 13th confirmed member of Stuart Ashton’s first team squad for 2020, with further announcements due in the coming days and weeks.
