Cobh Ramblers FC are pleased to welcome two new signings to the club for the 2020 League of Ireland season.
Attacker Lee Devitt and midfielder Martin Coughlan have both signed for the upcoming First Division season, having impressed on trial in recent weeks.
Devitt joins the club from Limerick FC. The Newmarket-on-Fergus native began his career with Shannon Hibernians before joining Limerick in 2014. He spent five seasons at the club, progressing to U17, U19 and ultimately Senior level last season. He made 20 first team appearances in 2019, scoring five goals. He had this to say about the move,
“I’m delighted to have signed with Cobh for the coming season and really can’t wait for the season to begin. The lads have been great since I arrived and I have settled in very quickly. The past few weeks have gone well and everyone is raring to go. I hope to play a big part in helping the club have a successful season this year.”
Coughlan arrives at Ramblers from Kerry League, where he most recently played with their U19 setup. He originally came through their U17 side before commencing a soccer scholarship in South Carolina, USA. He returned to Kerry for his final year at U19 level. Having impressed on trial during pre-season, the midfielder is excited for the new campaign,
“I am very happy to be signing for Cobh and making the step up to senior football for the first time. I’ve come across Cobh teams a lot with Kerry and I always liked the club. I feel that we’ve a good chance of doing very well this season.”
