Ex-Service Veterans Muster in Limerick

The Southern Area Council ( S.A.C. ) of the Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel ( O.N.E. ) which represents all the O.N.E. branches in Munster, held a meeting in the lovely South Court Hotel in the Raheen district of Limerick City on Saturday 16th. August 2014. It was hosted by the Patrick Sarsfield branch. There were 25 delegates in attendance, less than normal , due mainly to people being on holidays. The following branches were represented; Clonmel, Cobh, Commander George Crosbie, Cork City, Mícheál Mac Aodh Bhuí Ballincollig, Nenagh Lower Ormonde, Patrick Sarsfield Limerick, Pierse Mc Can Templemore, Tipperary Town, and Thomas Ashe Kerry.
The CEO of O.N.E., Mr. Ollie Ó Connor, and the Chairman of the O.N.E. Finance Committee, Mr. Patrick Rooney were also present for the purpose of making a presentation in relation to proposals for new Area Council Protocols, and rule changes in respect of same.
Chairman of the S.A.C. who is also Secretary of the host branch, Joe Ó Mahony, welcomed the delegates and wished them a fruitful and enjoyable meeting.
Secretary, Tony Canning’s, Treasurer, Ger Enright’s and P.R.O., Domhnall Mac Cárthaigh’s reports were all adopted.
Chairman of the O.N.E. Finance Committee, Patrick Rooney ,then made the presentation in respect of new Protocols and Rule Changes for Area Councils. These were adopted unanimously by the delegates.
S.A.C. Chairman, Joe Ó Mahony thanked Mr. Ollie Ó Connor and Mr. Patrick Rooney for their attendance and presentation.
Votes of sympathy were extended to the families of the following who recently passed on; Peggy Last Clonmel; Paul Mc Gee, Naval Service and Cobh; John Conneely, Naval Service and Cobh; Donal Greaney, Naval Service and Cobh. Dessi Mc Groarty, Spike Island and Cobh.
It was decided that the S.A.C. A.G.M. would be held on Saturday 21st. February 2015 in the Templemore Arms Hotel at 14,00 hours and hosted by the Pierse Mc Can Branch, Templemore
