Jim Culleton, Artistic Director of Fishamble: The New Play Company, is delighted to announce that the acclaimed production of Forgotten by writer and performer Pat Kinevane will be continue its summer tour with 3 performances at the Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork.

With more than 20 performances in 2010, including a three week engagement at the Irish Arts Center in New York, special performances in Washington D.C. and Boston, and a six-venue tour of Bulgaria and Turkey, Forgotten returns to Ireland for 3 performances this May at the Everyman Palace Theatre in Cork from 27th – 29th May at 8pm. It will be the first time Forgotten has been performed in Cork City.

Pat Kinevane’s captivating portrayal of four elderly characters, living in retirement homes and care facilities around Ireland, is a unique collage of Kabuki dance and Irish storytelling. Since then it has toured extensively throughout Ireland, the USA, Scotland, England, Paris, The Czech Republic, Iceland, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

  • ‘an indelible solo performance…one of the most unexpectedly witty and dramatically rewarding works of the theater you are likely to attend this year…the sorrows of ageing and the mystery of the heart are movingly captured by this slow and deliberate performance style, kicking the play into an unlikely artistic high gear…Jim Culleton directs the show with enormous confidence…Kinevane seems to have crossed Kiss of the Spider Woman with an immediately familiar Irish slice of life tale that might have been penned by William Trevor, and the result is rarely less than electrifying.’ Irish Voice (New York)
  • ‘Kinevane switches between each role with marvelous facility, clearly the result of his talent and the strength of his distinctive writing. There’s real bite in Kinevane’s script and performance.’ Irish Central (New York)
  • “Never underestimate the substance, the complexity, of a long life. ‘Forgotten,’ Pat Kinevane’s one-man show at the Irish Arts Center, gracefully illustrates that point with mimickry, invention and formidable stamina. Well paced and poignant. Mr. Kinevane artfully conveys the secrets, the hidden past, of the aged, and the dignity often behind their quaint, seemingly innocuous bearing.” The New York Times
  • “… the monologues are beautifully written and vivid, what makes this show uniquely memorable is Kinevane’s raw, over-the-top, compassionate performance…” The New Yorker
