The National Convention and A.G.M. of the Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel ( O.N.E. ) took place in Whites’ Hotel Wexford on the 7th. 8th. and 9th. of June 2013.
Peter Byrne, a member of the Cobh Branch and outgoing National President handed over the chain of office to the incoming National President John Gus Hennessy a native of Wexford, but living in Kilkenny and a long serving member of the James Stephens Branch there. Peter also made a presentation to John of a lovely piece that he had made especially for him to mark the occasion . It comprised of two shell cases crowned with replica 1798 pike heads in miniature form mounted on a wooden plinth and suitably inscribed.
Peter achieved further honour for himself and his branch when he was elected at the A.G.M. to serve on the National Board of Directors joining his fellow branch colleague Domhnall Mac Cárthaigh.
Domhnall Mac Cárthaigh FS.
