This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Cobh Heritage Centre, and on Thursday July 4th the centre will hold a reception to celebrate this event. “The centre’s origins began in the late 1980’s when a local committee launched ‘The Queenstown Project.’ Local interests set about a major fundraising campaign to build a heritage Centre which would highlight the significant role Cobh played in major Irish historical events such as the Famine and Emigration as well as the two ill-fated cruise liners The Titanic and the Lusitania.” said General Manager Jack Walsh.
