2013 has been a successful year for the Cobh Community Allotments. The warm temperatures and dry weather has produced bumper crops for all plot holders. However, it is not too late to start planting as there are many crops, such as spring cabbage, cauliflower, beetroot and lettuce, to name but a few, that can be sown or planted into the late summer months for harvest throughout the autumn, winter, and even into next year’s spring.
There are still plots available to rent and you can avail of our easy payment scheme through our bank account – €4/week for a full size plot and €2/week for a half size plot. Also, we are now offering quarter size plots for €1 week. You can also organise payment by cash or cheque. So whether you wish to grow vegetables, fruit, flowers or herbs, please contact us by calling Aislinn (Cobh Family Resource Centre) on 086-0415168 for a tour of the allotment site and to secure your plot. And don’t forget to check out our Facebook page for some inspiration and advice.
