1 vacancy for an Environmental Worker – Tidy Towns Cobh

This position is primarily an outdoor position with Cobh Tidy Towns. Duties include grass cutting, landscaping, painting, and litter control.

The applicant needs to be able to work on his/her own initiative and as part of a team. A full B Driving Licence is necessary for this position.

The successful applicant should have an interest in how the town of Cobh is presented in terms of cleanliness and appearance and how it performs in the National Tidy Towns competition.

2 vacancies for an Assistant Youth Worker – Cobh Youth Services

If you wish to pursue a career in Youth Work/Childcare, this position is the role for you.

You will be given the opportunity to complete a Diploma in Youth & Community Work in UCC or other training that is of interest to you, while gaining experience working with children and young people.

Duties include after school activities, homework club, youth café, outdoor activities, child protection issues.

1 vacancy for a Caretaker – St. Colman’s Cemetery

Responsible for the overall presentation, maintenance and appearance of the cemetery which includes:

Grass cutting, strimming, weeding, seeding, fertilizing, operating earth moving, and lawn care equipment and cemetery clean up.

Maintain lawn equipment and schedule repairs when necessary.

Work individually or as part of a team and follow instructions when necessary.

General maintenance and repairs in the Parish

1 vacancy for a Caretaker – Great Island Community Centre

Duties include maintenance of building indoors and outdoors to include painting, cleaning, gardening etc. A full description is available on request.

1 vacancy for an Assistant Youth Worker- PAKT Programme Cobh YMCA

If you wish to pursue a career in Youth Work/Arts Facilitation/Office Administration, then this position is a great opportunity.

You will gain practical experience working with children and young people aged 6 – 18 years on the PAKT Programme, while developing your role with further training that is of interest to you.

Duties include working in our groups PAKT with children, assisting our Youth Worker and Family Support Worker with office administration, planning and preparing materials and activities for our groups, food preparation and cooking, maintaining cleanliness in our space and helping to organise and host our family events in SIRIUS Arts Centre.

Eligibility to participate in Community Employment is generally linked to those who are 21 years of age and over and are in receipt of an Irish Social Welfare payment for 52 weeks or more.
