JUNIOR 1st Div: Cobh Wanderers 4-1 Brideview Utd

Cobh Wanderers Junior Div 1 team were back in league action this evening in what looked like a beautiful spring evening down at Old Church Astro against Brideview United. The San Siro Cafe was also open again for business and was well supported.
Wanderers raced into the lead with a stunning Jamie Gilmartin goal after only 5 mins, Brideview hit back on 8 minutes with an equalizer only for Wanderers to regain the lead on 9 minutes from Conor Corcoran, 2 from 2 for Conor, a frantic 10 minutes spell. The rest of the half was a close encounter which ended with Wanderers skipper Jae Kinsella receiving a nasty cut over his eye but continuing on in true captain (Terry Butcher) style. 2-1 Wanders at half time.
The second half was very close until Billy Murphy popped up for his second league goal in 2 games to make it 3-1. Adam O’Sullivan on as a second half sub was shown a dubious straight red by the referee to the disbelief of everyone. Wanderers down to 10 but Kinsella was immense in defence. When Brideview did breach they found Stapleton in goals, who was in no mood to concede again with a string of excellent stops and blocks. Alex Lawlor wrapped up the game with his 1st wanders goal after great work from Ronan Walsh. It finished 4-1 to Wanderers who had Stapleton, Kinsella, Murphy and Gilmartin all starring in a well earned victory.
