‘Make Your Will Week’ in aid of The Mercy University Hospital Foundation for Cancer Research at Don Ryan & Co. Solicitors

Having a Will in place, and more importantly having an up to date Will, is a vital step towards having your affairs in order. As important as it is, writing and updating a Will is a task put off by many year after year. In order to encourage the people of Cork to get their affairs in order, Don Ryan & Co. Solicitors in conjunction with The Mercy University Hospital Foundation have teamed up for the fourth annual ‘Make Your Will Week’.

From Monday, May 27th to Friday, May 31st, Don Ryan & Co Solicitors will open the doors of their Cobh office as they give people the opportunity to write and update their Will, free of charge. The people of Cork will also have the option to make an appointment to meet Don Ryan & Co. Solicitors at The Mercy Foundation’s office in Cork City. In lieu of the complimentary Will writing service, anyone availing of the service is asked to make a contribution to the Mercy University Hospital Foundation for cancer research.

Commenting on the importance of having your affairs in order, Don Ryan said, “I can’t stress how important it is to have a Will in place as well as the importance of updating your Will every five to ten years. Unfortunately, we are never too young to have a Will in place and by having it up to date, it offers peace of mind for the future of your family and loved ones. Our expert team will be on hand from May 27th to 31st for ‘Make Your Will Week’ whether it’s to write or update you Will.

The Mercy University Hospital Foundation has committed €40,000 for 2019 to support clinical research being carried out by Professor Micheál O’Riordáin in the area of Colorectal/Bowel Cancer, of which Cork has the highest rate in the entire country. It is predicted that nearly 6,000 people a year will be diagnosed with bowel cancer by 2045.
