MUSICA is a new chamber ensemble established in 2015 in Cork. The ensemble comprises of strings, flutes and percussion with vocal and instrumental soloists. This performance will be given by strings and flutes.
MUSICA brings music to social, informal every day settings, appearing at various venues and churches around Cork City and beyond. They draw from a broad repertoire spanning all periods and genres including Baroque, Classical, Modern, film, Irish, waltz and Latin.
The ensemble is directed from the violin by Áine O’Halloran, an experienced Classical and Baroque performer of violin and viola specialising in string quartet and small ensembles.
This is a fundraiser for Sirius Arts Centre. Sirius is a not for profit organisation, that receives funding from the Arts Council and Cork County Council for programming. Sirius Arts Centre depends on fundraising for the up keep of its unique heritage building. Sirius Arts Centre endeavours to raise public awareness of art. The programme encourages exploration through direct participation in the arts. It also offers developing opportunities for both emerging and established artists.
