New Slimming World Group Launches in Cobh with Consultant Mary Griffin

Cobh is set to welcome a brand-new Slimming World group this October, led by Ballycotton woman Mary Griffin, who knows firsthand just how life-changing the plan can be.
Mary’s journey with Slimming World began when she was at her heaviest. “I hated photos of myself,” she recalls. “When I discovered I weighed over 14 stone, I was disgusted, I didn’t even realise I was that weight until I stepped on the Slimming World scales.”
Her first weeks weren’t easy. She admits she was grumpy, sceptical, and unsure whether the plan would work for her. But one week, she lost four pounds, and it was the turning point. “I felt like I’d won the lotto,” Mary says. From there, she fully embraced the plan, discovered a love of healthy cooking, and never looked back.
Mary reached her target weight and found her health transformed. A keen cook, she now creates everything from slow-cooked harissa lamb to family feasts for 16 people, all the Slimming World way. She’s also discovered that food optimising not only tastes great but supports her health in a vital way, her cardiologist even told her that reaching target weight may have saved her life following a heart attack caused by a hereditary condition.
Now, Mary is excited to bring her experience, passion for food, and first-hand knowledge of the challenges and triumphs of weight loss to her brand-new Slimming World group in Cobh.
The group will be held at **Cobh GAA Club from Saturday 25th October, with sessions at 7.30am and 9.30am**.
“I can’t wait to welcome members, old and new,” Mary says. “Whether you’re just starting out or returning to your journey, I’ll be here to support you every step of the way.”
For anyone in Cobh looking to lose weight, improve their health, and rediscover confidence, this new group could be the perfect fresh start.
