There has never been a greater need to come together, while staying apart.
Cope Foundation, one of Ireland’s largest disabilities organisations, is reaching out to the broader community and asking them to come together for a virtual coffee break on Tuesday 24th March.
Cope is a non-profit organisation which supports over 2500 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/ or autism in Cork city and county.
All fundraising events and campaigns have been cancelled due to the Covid19 pandemic. However, our essential work is still very much needed in the community, so we need to look at ways to raise awareness and funds during these extraordinary times.
Most people are now confined to their home, and thousands are #WorkingFromHome. However, we all still need our coffee break and chats!
Cope Foundation is asking you to come along and join their virtual coffee break event any time on Tuesday to help others who need it most.
So stick the kettle on, make your cuppa and:
1. Text COPECORK to 50300 to donate €4 to Cope Foundation
2. Take a screenshot of your confirmation text and share that along with your #Cup4Cope selfie or coffee cup pic
3. Share online using #Cup4Cope (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn). Invite your colleagues and friends to join you and enjoy the chats.
There’s a fantastic prize to give away for the best coffee cup pic on the day. We have a voucher for Afternoon Tea at the Clayton Hotel Cork City for you and a friend to enjoy – when we’re all good to get out and about again!
Cope Foundation’s Chief Executive, Sean Abbott, says; “Our fundraising has been badly affected as a result of the Coronavirus situation. Our annual Flowers of Hope campaign, due to take place this month, has been cancelled, resulting in a loss of almost €40,000 in fundraising income – this is a huge knock to us. The virtual coffee morning will hopefully help us recoup some of the loss. We are reaching out to companies, individuals, Irish abroad, the people we support, staff, families and friends to take a break this Tuesday and come along for a cuppa online.”
