The first “Major” for the Cobh Golf Club Ladies in 2012 was played in difficult conditions. The rain had stayed with us all June – and unfortunately it was no exception on this Saturday end of June. However, the prizes on the table sponsored by Captain Stephen Mulcahy and his wife Sinead were beautiful, and it was no surprise that participation was strong. Despite the wet weather, none of the golfers gave up early – fair play to all!
Long term member Rose Stack (HC 17) proved a worthy winner in the end. Her 73 nett was exceptional on a day like this, and she was 2 shots ahead of Ann Lenihan (16), followed by Jaqui O’Regan (28) one further behind.
The prize was a brand new “state-of-the-art” Kindle e-reader. As a vivid reader, Rose was delighted and will soon turning her pages electronically… Congratulations!
