Rushbrooke Rowing Club – Another successful season

Rushbrooke Rowing Club have finished another successful competitive season with great performances at local, county and national level. CORK COUNTY FINALS -On August 2nd, the Cork County Finals in Courtmacsherry saw the club compete against local East Cork Clubs and our neighbour’s in the West against to earn 3 Bronze Medals (U12 Girls, U14 Girls, Intermediate Ladies ) and 4 Silver Medals (Vet Ladies, Pre-Vet Ladies, Pre-Vet Mixed, Intermediate Men).

ALL IRELANDS – On the weekend of August 14, 15 &16, the club traveled to Waterville Co. Kerry to compete in the biggest competition of the season – the Irish Coastal Rowing Federation All Ireland Finals. On Friday, the Yawl Men secured Bronze in our vintage ‘Villager’ boat. The years training and dedication was put to the test on Saturday, when, against stiff competition from 50 + clubs from around the Irish coast, several of our crews successfully made it through the qualifying heats, into Sundays finals.

At this level, each race is a battle, and the outcome is never guaranteed. Every crew from Rushbrooke Rowing Club rowed with focus, drive and passion to make their club, families and friends extremely proud.

Congratulations to our medal winners: GOLD – Veteran Ladies, SILVER- U12 Girls, BRONZE – Intermediate Men who also secured bronze in the Yawl Mens race.
