40 pupils took part in this year´s Chess Competition which was run by Mr. McSweeney. The competition began in the second term and finished at the end of the last term. All the games were played in the school hall during lunch break. Up to 60 games were played altogether as many finished in stalemate! We had some very close fought and interesting games and we hope boys will keep up the playing during the summer holidays! The competition ended up with Dan Sheehan & Conor Kelly in joint 3rd place. In 2nd place was John McCarthy, while the title of Grand Master this year went to Maciek Becmer! Well done to the four boys and all who took part in the competition.
