A series of event has been initiated for Spike Island from July to September this year. People will have the opportunity to visit the magnificent and historical Spike Island and enjoy the fabulous entertainment that is provided.
16th and 17th of July – As part of the Spike Island Walking Tours this weekend watch The Pards – the military reenactment group, reenact moments of the American Civil War. Tickets for The Spike Island Walking Tours are available at the entrance to Kennedy Pier in the town centre and boats leave Kennedy Pier in Cobh Saturday and Sunday 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
24th July – Damhsafest – Folk dance groups from some of the most diverse cultures throughout Europe and the world will perform on Spike Island from 3 pm till 5pm. For more information including boat times please phone 087 6801 008.
7th August – ‘Live on Spike’ – Featuring Music from The Frank and Walters, Ken Cotter and Mark Slade and other well-known Cork Artists. For more information please phone 087 6801 008.
20th and 21st of August – The Pards: This military reenactment group is back with reinforcements and again will be part of The Spike Island Walking Tours. The Spike Island Walking Tours leave Kennedy Pier in Cobh Saturday and Sunday 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
10th September – A family day out on Spike Island will be held in conjunction with the Cork Harbour Open Day. Entertainment will be available for the whole family including performances from some of Corks best musicians. For further information please phone 087 6801 008
