Spike Jailbreak Triathlon – Saturday 25th August

Olympic Athlete Sonia O’Sullivan posed for pictures with members of Cobh Triathlon Club at Cuskinny last Thursday to promote the upcoming jailbreak from Spike Event taking place on August 25.  Sonia is currently in training for the event which consists of a Sprint, 750m Swim followed by a cycle around the Great Island on a 20km loop and finishing with a 5 km run at the sea front.  This year there will also be an Olympic course which consists of 1500m swim, followed by a cycle round the Great Island on a 20km loop twice and finishing with a 10km run at the sea front.

Don Ryan, member of the Club welcomed Sonia and thanked her for taking the time out of her busy schedule to pose for some pictures.  Sonia then took to the water, accompanied by many other Triathlon club members for their gruelling training at Cuskinny Strand.

The annual event ‘Jailbreak from Spike’ will take place on Saturday August 25 and Entry forms are available from corktriathlon.com with the Sprint €45, relay €90, Olympic €52, Relay €104.  Relay teams consist of three participants each taking one section of the race each.
