The new season is almost here !!! Coaching for the Academy age groups (under 6 to under 10) begins on Saturday September 5th at John Murphy Memorial Park Astroturf pitch ( behind Cobh Community College).
This season the Academy will be implementing a player development programme. Players’ movement and soccer skills will be developed at each Saturday morning coaching session through the use of age appropriate activities and small sided games. In addition to the weekly coaching sessions we will be arranging small sided games against other Cork clubs on a regular basis throughout the season…..and although we believe player development is important, we will still be placing an emphasis on fun and ensuring all players are enjoying themselves.
Our Academy coaches have been busy attending coaching courses over the last few months and the aim is for our coaches to complete FAI Kickstart 2 by the end of September 2015 ( this course covers coaching children up to the age of 12).
Coaching for the season will take place on Saturday mornings at the following times:
Children born in 2010 – 12.30 to 1.30pm
Children born in 2010 – 2009 – 12.30 to 1.30pm
Children born in 2010 – 2008 – 11am to 12pm
Children born in 2010 – 2007 – 11am to 12.30pm
Children born in 2010 – 006 – 9.30am to 11am
New members for all age groups are welcome, so why not come along and get SOCCER MAD.
