Macroom 1 Springfield Ramblers 6
Springfield Ramblers goals were scored by Anthony Otokiti (5) and an own goal. This was a fantastic team effort from a team that is really starting to gel together, getting our first away win with some style. Everyone played brilliantly on the day and here’s hoping we can go and push on from here. Well done to all the lads.
Under 14 Cup
Mayfield United 1 v 1 Springfield Ramblers (AET) Mayfield win on penalties.
Springfield Ramblers U14s travelled to premier side Mayfield in the local cup and were beaten on penalties after the game finished 1-1. Odhran Kidney Power got our goal and best on the day were Alex Ryan and Jack Palmer.
Umbro 12 Premier
Springfield Ramblers 0 Carrigaline United 2
Carrigaline started this game at a very high tempo and really brought the game to Springfield Ramblers. The home side struggled to cope with this and went in 2-0 down at half time. A few positional changes at half time and a better effort from the lads saw a different team take to the pitch in the second half. Tom Gill struck a superb 25 yard free kick that narrowly sailed over the bar. With 15 minutes Springfield Ramblers had to take a chance and played 3-4-3.Chance after chance either went narrowly wide or was saved by the Carrigaline keeper. Unfortunately the goal didn’t come but the lads can be very proud of the effort in the second half. Best on day were Morgan Dillon Hilton, Tom Gill and Nathan O’Connell.
