U13 Local Cup
Youghal United (7) v Springfield Ramblers A, (1)
Springfield were totally dominated from the start by the Division 4 Youghal team.  They were 5 down at the break and should have been more only for some good saves from Adam Stanton in the Springfield goal.  Changes were made at half time and they were a completely different team in the second half.  Emmanuel O Neal came on up front and he lifted the whole tempo of his team with some great movement.  He also scored a great goal which he really deserved.  Springers also hit the post and the bar but they came out on the end of a bad defeat.  Hopefully they will bounce back when the league returns in the next week or so.

Springfield Ramblers B (0) v Douglas Hall A, (4)
The local cup gave a great opportunity to test ourselves against a team doing well one division higher. The first half was a proved to be a very tight affair with chances at both ends with great clearances off the line by Marc Jones and Rhys Welham helping to keep the score at 0-0.  Evan O’ Leary and Cian Doherty worked hard and helped to create several chances which unfortunately, were not taken.  The second half continued with the sides very evenly matched until Douglas Hall managed to break away score the opener on the second attempt after a great save from Niall Moynihan with 15 minutes remaining.  The young Ramblers continued to fight but conceded again with six minutes left.  The heavy pitch meant for tired legs and two goals in the last two minutes gave an unfair reflection on what was a very evenly contested match. Great performance by all but Rowland Nsubuga was the outstanding player on the day.

Thanks to all the family and friends for the great support and best wishes from all the squad to Josh Kelly who broke his wrist in training.

Roy Keane 13 Premier
Kinsale (1) v Springfield Ramblers, (1)
A disappointing result against a very resilient Kinsale side.  Springers finally broke down their defence in the second half with a goal from Ciaran Griffin and probably shoud have scored again after that to put the game to bed but it wasnt the case and the match ended in a draw.  Best on the day were Cian Walker and Ciaran Griffin.

Gary Comerford 15 Premier
Mallow United (1) v Springfield Ramblers (0)
Springfield Ramblers under 15s travelled to second place Mallow last weekend and despite dominating the game for long periods were unfortunate to lose to a late Mallow strike which came against the run of play.  Overall it was a good team performance but the man of the match goes to Evan O Mahony.  The team would also like to thank Conor and Luke from the under 14s for playing up and helping them out.

U11 Local Cup
Crosshaven (1) v Springfield Ramblers (0)
In many ways this was a copy of last week’s match, where the lads started strongly, but let Crosshaven back into it and they scored from some poor defending.  1-0 At HT. The match was all about the second half, where again like last week, for half an hour Springers lived in the Crosshaven half, totally dominated the opposition and showed what this team can do.  But unfortunately it was one of those days where it was just never going to happen for the lads despite playing brilliantly and peppering the oppositions goal mouth we could not get the final finish.  Hats off to Crosshaven and their keeper who had a great game.  In a game showing what the cup is all about, it was a hard lesson for the lads to quote the locals, in that the best team by far lost.  MOTM Sean Cummins.
