Springfield Ramblers A (7) v Riverstown A, (0)
Gary Comerford 15 Premier
Springfield Ramblers (0) v Mallow United, (2)
The under 15s came back down to earth with a bang going down 2.0 to a far more disciplined Mallow team last Saturday, best on the day were Jack Palmer and Alex Ryan.
Umbro 12 Premier
Springfield Ramblers (0) v Douglas Hall, (3)
Springfield failed to capitalise on last week’s hearty performance against St Mary’s and were well beaten by a Douglas Hall side who were winning the battles all over the pitch. One positive for Springfield Ramblers was the return of Fionn Duggan after injury. Best of luck to the players selected for Cork Trials today. Let’s keep growing and developing in our maiden year in the league!
Umbro 13 Division 5
Carrigtwohill United (7) v Springfield Ramblers B(3)
The first half was a tight affair with both teams fighting hard to gain control. Carrigtwohill drew first blood catching Springfield on the break to take a 1-0 lead. Springfield fought back and hit the crossbar before Evan O’Leary broke from half way and finished well just before half time. Into the second half and Springfield started well and got an early goal with a good finish from Brad Stapleton.
The joy however was short lived as Carrigtwohill hit back with two quick goals to go 3-2 in front. Springfield to their credit kept the heads up and again fought back and with some good work by Robert Mannix who fed Evan O’Leary to coolly finish for 3-3. In the last 15mins Springfield tired and conceded 4 goals as Carrigtwohil punished every mistake. Special mention to Evan O’Leary, Robert Mannix, Brad Stapleton who worked tirelessly up front and Rowland Nsubuga who did a great job marshalling the defence. Thanks to all family and friends for the support.
Umbro 15 Division 4
Cobh Ramblers (5) v Carrigaline United A, (2)
Another Aaron Dolan hattrick gave the lads an important 3 points today. Ciaran Leahy scored a screamer while Mickey Devlin grabbed one as well. Best on the day was Mickey Devlin who controlled the midfield.
Umbro 16 Premier
Ballincollig(0) v Springfield Ramblers(1)
This was a strong performance from the Spirngfield side who were weakened this week with 6 missing through injury and losing Adam Horgan to international duty. The boys pushed through this tough game with Alex O’Driscoll and Paudie O’Brien playing strong in defence with David Coffey leading the way in goal with another top class performance. Keenan o Flynn and Danny Gettings were excellent in midfield constantly pushing onto the Ballincollig backline.
The goal came from Charlie Fleming after a Darren Murphy free kick. The club wish Adam Horgan the best of luck on International duty where he will be in the squad for the two games this week.
