Umbro 14 Division 5
Cobh Ramblers 2 Glounthaune United 2
A draw was probably a fair result with these two promotion chasing sides. Glounthaune started the livelier and were two up at half time. Ramblers woke up in the second half and showed the fight that has them unbeaten since last October, and scored two goals from Jordan O’Mahony and Darren McKevitt. Ramblers piled on the pressure for the winner and it was Glounthaune who were relieved when the final whistle went.
U12 Cup
Springfield Ramblers 4 Corkbeg 1
After a slow start and conceding an early goal through a penalty the Springfield Ramblers U12s came back to dominate this game and score 4 goals that were worthy of any football stage. After peppering the Corkbeg goal with long distance shots, the equaliser came from Fionn Duggan who finished superbly from eighteen yards. This settled the home side who began to dominate the game with their passing and movement. The 2nd goal was scored by Nathan O’Connell who finished off a fine passing move up the left hand side of the pitch. The 3rd goal was right off the training pitch. The move started by left back Mikey Foley from just inside our own penalty box. After running about 10 yards with the ball Mike passed to Tom Gill in the centre of the pitch who quickly found Nathan O’Connell on a run down the left wing. Nathan took the ball on and crossed from the end line to the on rushing Eoin Kelly who calmly slotted the ball passed the stranded Corkbeg keeper. This gave Springfield Ramblers a 3-1 half time lead.
The 2nd half started at a high tempo with Corkbeg pushing to get back into the tie but springers dealt with everything thrown at them comfortably. The fourth and final goal was again after some great passing football. Right back Kieran Allen after sprinting to cut out a Corkbeg attack at the halfway line calmly picked out a great ball inside to Tom Gill who again quickly found Mikey Foley in space after sprinting from left full. Miky stepped onto the pass and ghosted past 2 defenders before hitting the top corner.
Over all a great team performance and all looking forward to the semi-finals.

After a very sleepy start the Cobh lads were 2 nil down but showed great character to bounce back and win 6- 2. Goals from Brad Stapleton (3), Evan O Leary (2) and Ger Devlin were helped by the good defensive displays of Killian O’Connell and Marc Jones
