SR 5 St Marys 0
Springfield played very well from the off matching Mary’s all over the pitch. Rams scored after 20 minutes and went in at halftime 1 up. It was all rams the second half and they scored another 4 with great pressure from the frontmen, midfielders and wingers, while the defenders let little through, and what did was professionally dealt with by the keeper. A deserved win to enjoy for the lads hard work.

Mallow 1 Springfield Ramblers 3
A great team performance was the platform for the teams win played in dreadful conditions. All 14 players played their part starting with the excellent Cormac in goals who produced some excellent saves. When the home team attacked Adam L, Jamie and Dave defensive play kept them at bay. Springfield Ramblers were unlucky not to take the lead when Fionn’s shot produced a great save from the Mallow keeper, with Mia and Colin controlling midfield Springfield Ramblers took the lead when Danny’s excellent run and cross was finished by Adam D. Early in the second half Mallow equalised but Springfield Ramblers showed their strength of character when Joe released Luke down the right his pass fed Danny whose fierce drive from 20 yards rested in the roof of the net. With Luka providing some great runs and crosses down the left Springfield Ramblers were unlucky not to increase their lead. When Ryan won a great tackle and fed Danny whose through ball released Colin who finished to ensure a great win.

Springfield Ramblers 7 v Carrigaline United 0
An evening that was more like the 1st of Feb rather than May saw the young Springfield Ramblers take on bottom of the table Carrigaline B. From the start Springfield dominated the game and after creating several good opportunities it was Ger Devlin who scored after 7mins. Springfield continued to dominate and even with the difficult conditions it was hard to see why it took so long to get a second which came from an o.g. The industrious Ger Devlin added another to make it 3-0 at half time.
The second half started in similar fashion but it was Carrigaline who had their first good opportunity to score but Niall Moynihan made a great save, all the better considering he had been a ‘cold and wet’ spectator up to that point. Shortly after the minor scare Ger Delvin added his third after superb work from Alex O’Mahoney, his first contribution after coming on. Adam Hayes also coming from the bench added two more, congrats Adam on your first goals. Goal of the night from Rhys Welham, a superb strike from 20yards finished the scoring.
A well-deserved victory and I am sure all the family and friends enjoyed it after the many tension filled close matches this season.
All 16 members of the squad performed well on the night, special mentions to Luke Murphy, Rowland Nsubuga and hat-trick hero, Man of the Match Ger Devlin.
Well done to teammates Marc Jones, Rhys Welham and Josh Kelly from all the squad and coaches on winning the South Munster Cup with U14 Cobh Pirates.
