Springfield Ramblers got off to a great start scoring 2 early goals helping them to settle into their passing game. A non-stop threat from Tom at full back & Ciaran on the right side of mid created numerous chances giving them a 4 goal lead at half time. Louis and Nathan bossed the midfield for the whole game while Diarmuid and Colin were a constant threat in the second half which led to Mikey getting his well-deserved hat-trick. The goals were scored by Mikey (3) Ciaran, Diarmuid, Brian & Colin. Well done to the lads, keep up the good work.
Under 12 Girls Evening Echo Cup
Springfield Ramblers 5 Richmond 1
Springfield Ramblers Under 12 Girls reached the final of the under 12 Evening Echo Cup with a hard fought victory over Richmond F.C. on Wednesday last. Going a goal behind early in the game Springfield Ramblers had it all to do and were kept in the game with some great defending from Chelsea Harte, Grace Farnan, Jasmine Lagan Murphy and Katelyn Mulcahy.
With the hardworking midfield of Eve Allen, Leigh Tarrant, Kadi Cronin and Sarah Duggan they gradually got back into the game with a fine goal from centre forward Ava Stapleton just before half time.
After the break Lauren Egboliniu scored from the penalty spot to put Springfield Ramblers ahead.
Then with fine displays from forwards Amy Burns, Louise Burke, Emily Keating, Ava Stapleton and Lauren Egboliniu Springfield Ramblers scored again with goals from Ava Stapleton, Lauren Egboliniu and Louise Burke to win 5-1. Great credit is due to joint managers Willie Kane and Dan Cronin together with team coaches Mary Guilfoyle and Jane Allen and especially all the squad who greatly contributed to the success of this team over the season.
Jordan & Cathal called up for International Duty
The Springfield Ramblers club extends its congratulations to Jordan Tarrant Lowry who has been called up to the Ireland Under15 squad for their game in Austria and to Cathal O’Hanlon who has been called into the Under 16 squad for their game in Belgium. Both games take place later this month. Well done and continued success to the lads.
