Springfield Ramblers 2 Strand United 1
Under 14 Division 1
Fermoy 3 Springfield Ramblers 1
This game was closer than the score suggests. Springfield Ramblers played with the wind in the first half and after a shaky first few minutes played themselves into the game. The wind was very strong and it was hard to play good football because of this. Springfield Ramblers hit the crossbar and had a goal bound effort deflected wide by one of their own players, keeping the score at nil all at half time. Fermoy scored direct from a corner after five minutes of the second half. James O’Flynn was getting a lot of ball up front but the away side could not convert the chances and Fermoy scored again after fifteen minutes. Springfield Ramblers dominated from here to the finish and got a goal back from John Kennedy with eight minutes to go. They had two more good chances before Fermoy scored a breakaway goal just before the end. Adam Devlin made some good saves and along with Jason Keating, Graham O’Connor played well.

Carrigaline United 2 Springfield Ramblers 3
This was a great away win for Springfield Ramblers on the Astroturf pitch at Ballea Park. It was an even first half, Carrigaline scored an early goal but Springfield Ramblers were on top after that and scored from a good free kick from Kieran Histon to equalise just before half time. Carrigaline scored again fifteen minutes into second half. Springfield Ramblers, still dominating made a few changes and brought Jason Keating into midfield. They began to get more of the ball and were rewarded when a ball over the top by Graham O’Connor was buried by James O’Flynn with ten minutes to go. Springfield Ramblers were on top now and were rewarded when Keith O’Flynn got the ball back to James O’Flynn and even though surrounded by three players he got his shot away and scored. Springfield Ramblers were comfortable in the last few minutes to ensure a great win.
