The Countdown to the World’s Biggest Day of Generosity is on

This year Brighter Communities Worldwide is participating in GivingTuesday – a global day of giving which takes place on Tuesday, November 30th, where for 24 hours only all donations are match funded.

On this day any donation you make to Brighter Communities Worldwide will be matched up to 100%. This means if you give 50 euros on this day, BCW will get up to 100 euros towards their programme.  50 euros can support PPE for 4 health workers.  But by donating next Tuesday they will be able to reach up to 8 health workers with the same donation!

This project which is raising funds to support the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine in Kenya will purchase much-needed equipment to support the vaccination programme: refrigeration boxes for transportation, fridges for storage in ‘outreach’ centres, vaccination boxes to access remote areas. Temporary structures (Tents) to act as vaccination centres. PPE. Leaflets and banners to give information to communities as they prepare for the vaccinations.

Maria Kidney, Co-Founder of Brighter Communities Worldwide said “This is not just about vaccines.  This is about the logistics of delivering the vaccines.  This is about children missing school and returning to the fields to work.  This is about young pregnant girls who have a challenging future; this is about the breadwinners unable to work who have no government support. We need help to support the survival of families in Kenya. Nobody is safe until everybody is safe. This project will ensure communities will get the vaccination protection they need.”
