Under 16 National Cup Round of 16 Tie Springfield Ramblers v Liffey Celtic (Dublin)
Venue: John Murphy Memorial Park Carrignafoy
Next Saturday March 3rd is a very important day in the current Schoolboys Football Season for the Springfield Ramblers Club as our Under 16 Premier League team are taking part in a Last 16 Tie of the SFAI U16 National Cup Competition. The team has a home tie against Liffey Celtic of Dublin at the John Murphy Memorial Park Carrignafoy at 2pm.
The team has performed admirably in the games prior to this round. The boys emerged from the Cork side of the draw with a 6-0 victory away to Kinsale. They then beat Douglas Hall on a 3-1 score line in the next round and had a 4-3 victory in the dreaded penalty shoot-out away to Avondale to qualify for the round of 32. They had a great 3-0 victory away to Tipperary side Bansha Celtic to qualify for the last 16 stage.
The Under 16 team under coaches John Coughlan, Vince Keating and Willie O’Hanlon are in a comfortable position in mid table of the U16 Premier League table. The Club wishes the very best of luck to the lads in this very important game and we would be very pleased if Cobh football supporters and the general public would come out and offer their support to the boys on Saturday afternoon.
