The construction of the communal polytunnel has now been completed. Over twenty volunteers came out on the day and with great team work and enthusiasm the project was finished in a little over two hours. The addition of the communal polytunnel means that those on site who do not have their own greenhouse or polytunnel will now have the opportunity to grow the more tender fruit and vegetables unsuitable to the Irish climate.
The Cobh Community Allotments is holding a Family Picnic Day on Saturday, July 6th 2013 at 1 pm for all its current allotment holders. There will be a BBQ, live music, face-painting and lots more entertainment on the day. There are still plots available to rent and you can avail of our easy payment scheme through our bank account – €4/week for a full size plot and €2/week for a half size plot. We are now offering quarter size plots for €1 week. You can also organise payment by cash or cheque. So whether you wish to grow vegetables, fruit, flowers or herbs, please contact us by calling Aislinn on 086-0415168 for a tour of the allotment site and to secure your plot for the season ahead. Happy Planting
