Vintage and Heritage days in Cobh, Co Cork to mark the half-way point of the Titanic Centenary Year

On Saturday July 28th Cobh Titanic100 and the people of Cobh will host a Vintage weekend to mark the halfway point of the Titanic centenary year. Events over the weekend include a ‘Vintage Speakeasy’ night – live music of the era, drinks and canapé reception held in the Commodore Hotel at 8pm. Dress 1900 – 1950’s. Tickets are available from the Titanic100 office, 3 Westbourne Place, Cobh – €10 per person €15 per couple.
On Sunday 29th – Cobh will be transformed with our Vintage Fair which will cover all this and more with stands on Food, Fashion, Accessories, Music, Transport, Gifts, Gadgets and Jewellery to name but a few. See Designer Vintage inspired Bridal Gowns or customised lavishly embellished footwear. Write your love note on a vintage look Cork Harbour gift card or say it with flowers in the Edwardian Language of Love. Choose a cup cake or a finger sandwich from our local suppliers and wash it down with Corks Best Barry’s Tea. The table will be set with customised original cake stands and the handmade pinafores will protect your glad rags if you choose to come all dressed up for the event.
Music of the era will add to the ambience of the town with this weekend, step back in time to revisit our heritage and history in a town that can boast original architecture, a veritable film set with stories you could not make up even if you were the Jane Austin or Walter Scott of today.
On Wednesday 3rd August – Cobh will be brought to life with street theatre depicting some of the historical highlights from Queen Victoria to Jack Doyle and the tragic Margaret Rice and restaurants in Cobh will be creating special menu for the day.
