Visions of an Unsettled Earth’ is an exhibition that explores ideas of temporality, transience and transformation in the environment. It features new and recent works created by the Cork County-based artists Debbie Godsell, Fiona Kelly and Sarah O’Flaherty.
Join us for a panel discussion with the artists and the Cork city-based art critic Sarah Kelleher on Saturday, 3 October, at 2pm. The event is free but advance booking via Eventbrite is required (link below). COVID-19 prevention-related measures are in place.

According to Kelleher, the artists are ‘concerned with the environmental, or, more precisely, with our increasingly mediated, distanced and fraught relationship to our surroundings’. For Kelleher, they share an ‘interest in material and in process – specifically, the process of layering or accretion, be it of images, rubber or plaster.’
The exhibition presents prints and sculptures that engage with imagery and matter examining the environment as a continuous collaboration or negotiation between nature and human interaction. The works on view consider themes related to land use and representation to address the collective anxiety over society’s current state of affairs.
The exhibition continues until 31 October. New opening hours: Wednesday – Saturday, 11:00 – 16:00.
‘Visions of an Unsettled Earth’ is an iteration of ‘Visions of Half-light’, an exhibition that the artists organised at the Town Hall Gallery in Macroom, County Cork, in 2018, funded by Cork County Council.
