The Sonia O’Sullivan Cobh 10 Mile Race – Sunday 29th of April 2018 @ 09:30

Dear fellow residents of Great Island,

We’re delighted to announce that the upcoming Sonia O’Sullivan Cobh 10 Race has completey sold out!

With over 1,000 people registered, it promises to be the biggest road race that Cobh has seen in decades!

Formerly The Great Island 10, it has been very well supported over the years thanks to the goodwill of the people of this island. People just like you.

The great lady herself, Sonia O’Sullivan, will be in attendance and would love to have big crowds around to welcome and cheer on all the runners.
And again this year, the Irish Cancer Society will benefit from this event.

It is in this spirit of goodwill that we humbly ask any person/group who may be in a position to volunteer a couple of hours of their time on the day to please contact our race coordinator, Terry Murphy.

Whether it be assisting with parking and directions, start/finish line or road stewarding, providing support with signage, water stations, offering refreshments in the Community Centre, etc., any time you can give would be of immense help to us in providing a first class event for participants, spectators and residents alike.

We will be setting up from 07:00, (race starts @ 09:30), and aim to finish an hour or two after the final person has crossed the finish line.
