Wellbeing Day event in Cobh – Sat 18th June

Cobh Wellbeing Day is a free public event taking place on Saturday 18th June 2011, from 11am-4pm on the Promenade. The aim of the event is to promote all forms of well being (Mental health, Physical Health, Sexual Health and Social Health) for all ages and backgrounds in the Cobh Community. It is being organised by the Family Support Network, a collection of professional organisations serving the people of Cobh. There will be upwards of 30 stalls from various local sports (rugby, golf, yoga, cycling, Cork Sports Partnership), Youth organisations (YMCA, CYS, Feabhas) and health and family supports (Family Resource Centre, Breaking The Silence, Cork Mental Health, Sli Nua, Pieta House, Aware, Cobh Community Centre). A full schedule of entertainment is planned includes live music from Cork Multicultural Choir, the Big Band, traditional music from the Moroney’s,  Operation Cork Music Blast and karaoke singing. There will be food stalls, dancers, face painters and balloon artists throughout the day. The formal opening will be done by the Mayor of Cobh, Cllr. Finbarr O’Driscoll at 11am and the day will be wrapped up with a fancy dress soccer match at Wanderers pitch at 5pm.
