Sea Sunday – Christchurch, Rushbrooke – Sunday 17th May

This year marks the 50^th Anniversary of Sea Sunday at Christchurch Rushbrooke . Cobh has the honour of being the oldest church to remember our seafaring brethren in Munster. The  maritime history of Cobh is of longstanding and each year members of the Cobh branch of the O.N.E, are joined by representatives of the various ex servicemen’s organisations and the wider public at a ceremony to honour all those who have lost their lives at sea.

This year the service will naturally concentrate on the sinking of the Lusitania and we will remember Cobh’s sad participation in that  awful event. As the town concludes its various lists of events remembering the sinking of the Lusitania, why not join us at Christchurch at 10.30 am on Sunday the 17^th May to honour all those who died.
