Cobh Triathlon Club are proud to announce that this years Jailbreak triathlon will take place on Sunday September 11th. There are quite a few changes this year to previous years events. This year the event has been awarded a National Series status by Triathlon Ireland which means that the particpants in the race will be awarded points toward the National Title. The triathlete in the country who has won most points at the end of the year is the National Triathlon Champion. The Jailbreak Triathlon which takes place at the end of the season could be a critical race for many who are in the race for the title.
Being part of the National Series means that this year only 1 event will be run this year which is the Olympic or Standard distance. This includes the iconic 1500 metre swim from Spike Island, followed by a 40km bike route and a final 10km run. There will be no Sprint distance this year. A relay option will be available this year for the Olympic distance.
Cobh Triathlon Club would like to thank all those have participated, supported and sponsored the event in previous years and hope to have your continued support to run another top class event this September.
Entries are now open on the Triathlon Ireland web site http://triathlonireland.com/ or for more information contact the club on info@cobhtri.com
