Haulbowline Theatre Group presents ‘A Night of Theatre’ featuring some of the group’s award winning acting and directing talents from hilarious comedy to touching drama, running from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th December 2011.

Directors Berna Gordon, Dave McCall, Joanne Geary and Ann Gibbs have produced a night of theatre to suit all entertainment palettes. Berna directs US writer James McClure’s famous play Laundry and Bourbon which stars three of Cobh’s most recognisable actresses – Annemarie Dolan, Ciara O’Driscoll and Aoife Halligan in this humorous, moving and poignant slice of life from the back porch of a sultry Texas dwelling in small town America.

Director and producer Dave McCall follows with Bench Encounter by Frank Meade, in which he directs himself and Joanne Geary in a tale of an encounter between an Irish would-be fitness fanatic and a man she overhears as she jogs by on a park bench. Joanne Geary then steps into the director’s shoes with J. O’Reilly’s Jailbirds, starring Dave McCall and Shane Coleman, two of Cobh’s finest actors, in this bemusing tale of two inmates of Florida State Prison whereby Bill gives Josh some evaluation on life in the can, as well as his philosophies on hard work, nagging wives and pet insurance. ‘A Night of Theatre’ is brought to a close by Ann Gibbs production of Gosford’s Fete by Alan Ayckbourn. Starring Haulbowline stalwarts Pat Mahony, Paul Lynch, Denis Cotter, Colette O’Donovan and Ann Gibbs herself in this hilarious comedy. Gosford’s Fete starts like all village fetes do, however it develops into chaos involving public announcements, electrocution and alcohol and things go completely wrong as the Fete climaxes to a complete disaster.
