Saturday 1st May – Fota Wildlife Park – Spirit Of Africa Weekend -Join us in the park this May Bank Holiday Weekend when we will be celebrating the Spirit of Africa with african drumming, tribal dancing, african arts & crafts and talks on all our african animals. Starts Saturday 1st May at 10.00am and Monday and concludes Monday 3rd May at 5.00pm

Sunday 2nd May – 2.30pm – Tours of the Old Church Cemetery – On the first Sunday of every month from May to September 2010, Jack Gilmartin will give a free guided tour of the Old Church Cemetery, starting at 2.30pm and finishing at 4.30 pm. Meet at the lodge at the entrance to the cemetery. See the graves of the Lusitania victims, Napoleon’s surgeon, Hollywood Actors, Boxer Jack Doyle and Poet Charles Wolfe among many other historic figures in Irish life.

Saturday 29th May – Springfield Ramblers Awards – 6.00pm at the Community Hall -The Springfield Ramblers Club Annual Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 29th May at 6pm in Cobh Community Centre. The ceremony will see players at all age groups rewarded in three different categories, namely Player of the Year, Clubman of the Year & Most Improved Player of the Year. There will also be awards for players who have honoured the club by being selected for representative teams at Cork Schoolboy level and at International level. Among other awards presented on the day will be Clubman of the Year and the Hall of Fame award. The club would like to invite all parents and friends of players of all the teams to come along to this ceremony to applaud the efforts of the players and coaches throughout a long season.
