The sixth annual Barrack Hill Ball Roll will take place as usual on the bank holiday Monday August 6th, at 4pm. Balls can be purchases in business premises throughout the town over the next couple of weeks at €2 each, they will also be available on the day. The beneficiaries of this worthy event will again this year be, the Ontology Dept. of the Mercy Hospital Cork and the Cork branch of Brainwave Ireland/ Irish Epilepsy Association.
Over the last five years thousands of Euros have been raised for these two charities and other local causes and a heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who continues to support this event. Again this year the Uphill Big Ball Challenge for the ‘Ball Roll Cup’ will be part of the day’s activities. This will take place prior to the main Ball Roll with the final taking place immediately before the balls are released. Teams will consist of three persons male, female or mixed and entry €10 per team. Forms can be got by contacting me Jim, at 086 0854720. We would please ask all clubs, pubs and associations to make an effort to participate in this colorful and fun event.
