The Cobh Great Island Tidy Districts Awards Ceremony, organised by Cobh Tidy Towns will be held on Monday 24th September 2012 at 7.30 pm sharp. There were a total of 83 entries over the seven categories in this year’s competition which is generously sponsored by Cobh Credit Union. The ceremony will take place in the unique surroundings of Cobh Heritage Centre, who along with Cobh Town Council are proud sponsors of the reception.
The ceremony will incorporate a comprehensive Audio Visual Presentation showcasing the efforts of the people of Cobh and the Great Island that are making Cobh a nicer place to live in, work in and to visit.
The presentation will be given by the judge Terry O’Regan who previously judged the Cobh Tidy Districts competition from 1989 until 1998 and again in 2011. His thoroughness in judging and insightful appraisals will make the ceremony enjoyable and enlightening. The Awards will be presented by Mayor Sinead Sheppard and the chairperson of Cobh Credit Union. Everybody is welcome to attend the Awards Ceremony and to celebrate along with the award winners the vast improvements that have been made in Cobh in recent years and which have contributed to Cobh being awarded a silver medal in the National Tidy Towns competition.
