Rushbrooke Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club again hosted a very successful South of Ireland Championships over the Easter weekend.
An event which attracted some of the best players in Munster battled and beat the elements over the last two days of the event. Throughout five days of action over 320 players completed over 270 matches over an action packed tournament.
At the end of the tournament the club were delighted to have Tennis Ireland President Mr.Clifford Carroll and new Munster Branch President Mr.Martin Leahy in attendance for the presentation of prizes.
Well done to Captain Sally Donegan and all the team on an excellent tournament and now attention turns to the upcoming Vets tournament and then to the summer where the Senior Championships of County Cork will take place followed by the Irish Junior Close which this year carries a Grade 1 ranking which hopefully will attract some of Ireland’s best young players to Rushbrooke.
