This year Cobh Tri Club, along with main sponsors Cobh Credit Union will host their annual race, Jailbreak, on Saturday July 21st. The race will start at 11.45 am, but traffic restrictions will be in place from early that morning.
To begin, the triathletes will start their first discipline, the swim from Spike Island to the promenade. From there, they will mount their bikes and complete an out and back cycle route. This will see them heading for the roundabout after the Island gate restaurant, where they will turn around and make their way back to Cobh.
Leaving their bikes in transition, the competitors will then start their third discipline, the run. They must complete 4 laps of the deep water quay loop, finishing outside the Commodore Hotel.
As always Cobh Tri Club is looking forward to the full support of the people of the town and the Great Island. We are conscious of the amount of activity on the route during the race period and have planned the route to create as little disruption as possible.
It promises to be a fantastic event where you can see some of the leading triathletes of Munster and Ireland participate. If you are available to marshal on the day, don’t hesitate to contact us through our Jailbreak page on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram or by email cobhtriclub@gmail.com
