Talented teens turn out in their hundreds in a bid to become elves at Seek, Fota Island Resort
Over 300 elf-wannabes turned up at The Kingsley Hotel Cork today competing to become a part of Seek – Fota Island’s hugely popular Christmas experience. Now in its sixth year, the gorgeous woodlands at Fota Island Resort will be transformed into an exciting and magical Christmas winter wonderland with only the most magical elf helpers in Ireland selected to take part.
This year Santa Claus had some support from social media sensation and model Tara O’Farrell interviewing the potential elf helpers and helping her fellow judges decide on the cleverest, funniest and most magical of those to join the team at Seek at Fota Island Resort this year.
Tara was joined by fellow guest judges Izzy Showbizzy and Colm O’Sullivan from Cork’s RED FM, along with Seamus Leahy of The Fota Collection who knows what he’s looking for in an elf helper. “Shy and retiring types need not apply! Becoming an elf helper is a truly magical task and requires a bubbly personality, common sense and a true love for Christmas. The ability to make toys super quickly and an excellent hot chocolate are also welcomed. We’ve met some amazing elves here today and they will make an excellent addition to our Seek Christmas experience this year.”
Last year alone, Fota Island Resort saw over 60,000 guests be enchanted by the magic in the woodlands. Over 20,000 candy canes were eaten and cold hands were warmed by over 21,000 cups of hot chocolate.
Seek at Fota Island Resort runs from the 22nd of November to the 23rd of December. Individual tickets for Seek at Fota Island Resort cost from €13.50 to €18 per adult and €20.50 to €28 per child, depending on dates and times, with children under one free. Tickets will be available to buy online from 29th September at www.fotaseek.ie.
