Many Covites studying or working in Galway will welcome Manx2.com’s announcement that it plans to launch a new Galway to Cork service from July 2nd, 2010.
Designed to connect Galway with the Capital of the South, the Isle of Man based airline will commence the service between the two cities from Friday July 2nd with two return flights operating each Friday and Sunday
initially with a view to building the service up to a full twice daily schedule in the coming months.
Cobh’s Kevin Cullinane, Aviation Marketing Manager at Cork Airport, said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Manx2.com to Cork Airport. The addition of this new route will assist the economic, tourism and
social interaction between Cork and Galway and enhance the prospects of attracting significant investment to the regions via the new Manx2.com connectivity between both city regions. It will also provide a speedy 45
minute service between the two airports which will be hugely welcomed by those working, studying or travelling for leisure in either region”.
Manx2.com’s Chairman, Noel Hayes said: “We have great confidence in the long term future of the Irish economy and are delighted to bring our award-winning service to communities in the South and West. With 14
flights per week, we are improving connectivity between Cork and Galway and bringing the many attractions of Galway and the West within easy reach. In turn, we are hoping to stimulate commerce and tourism in both
regions.
Launched in 2006, Isle of Man based Manx2.com currently carries 100,000 passengers a year between the Isle of Man and Blackpool, Belfast, Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, Newcastle, Gloucester and Jersey. Further information and booking details are available at www.manx2.com
