Future Planet, the sustainability AI platform, today announces Donal Sullivan as its new CEO, welcoming the sustainability leader, who will lead its efforts to guide companies on their sustainable journeys and combat climate change. Future Planet’s SaaS AI platform enables companies to accelerate progress on their sustainability ambitions at scale, helping chief sustainability officers, to align and empower their organisations, to accomplish more at speed, using Future Planet’s world class technology and tools.
With 25 years of experience in the technology industry, prior to Future Planet, Donal held senior global executive roles in Johnson Controls, Tyco and Flextronics. He is a recognised authority on sustainable buildings and how technology can be used to accelerate sustainable progress at enterprise scale. Donal has been a leading voice on low carbon, sustainability projects around the world, with a great example in his home city Cork, where he oversaw the build of Ireland’s smartest building as a new global HQ for Johnson Controls at One Albert Quay in Cork.
Created by software entrepreneur Donal Daly and sustainable supply chain expert, Ingrid De Doncker, Future Planet is a cloud-based platform that maps out and builds a company’s sustainability journey, from maturity assessment to recommended actions and ultimately a transformation plan. All this is underpinned and mapped to the world’s sustainability knowledge and the vast array of policies, laws and metrics governing sustainability.
Speaking on his appointment, Donal Sullivan said: “Throughout my career I’ve seen first-hand how technology can support sustainability, and I’m incredibly excited to be joining a purpose led, innovative disruptor like Future Planet. Managing sustainability can seem overwhelming and complex. Future Planet makes it easy to engage the employee base at scale on this critical mission, solving for sustainability within your business, supply chain and product design.
Donal Daly, co-founder of Future Planet said: “Donal’s vision for sustainability is clearly aligned with ours and his track record on sustainability speaks for itself. We’re delighted to welcome him to lead our team and bring Future Planet to the next level. With his experience in building high-performance teams that deliver results, we know that he is the right person to scale up Future Planet after our successful launch last autumn.”
He continued: “As someone who has carried major international companies through sustainability journeys, he understands our clients’ challenges. In the end, our customer is the planet. We have no doubt that Donal will deliver the sustainability impact needed by Future Planet’s customers and the planet.”
