MSL Premier Div: Ringmahon Rangers 2-1 Cobh Wanderers

The seniors suffered defeat in Ringmahon Park on Sunday morning conceding goals in the second minute of each half with a sole reply in the 62nd minute from Ciarán Griffin. A poor start saw Wanderers go behind through a header from close range following a free kick. Wanderers started the second half on the front foot but a defensive lapse allowed the Ringmahon striker a clear sight of goal and a neat chip went in off the left upright. Ringmahon were in control until the final half hour when Tom Noonan broke down the left and put in a great cross for Griffin to control and slot past the keeper. Wanderers pushed on and nearly found an equaliser with another ball from the left but Ringmahon’s left back made a superb last ditch tackle to deny Griffin a second. A disappointing result today but a chance to get things back on track next Friday at home to U.C.C. in the league.
Team: Mark Power, Adam O’ Sullivan, Mikey Foley, Sean Cummins, Diarmuid Kearney, Dylan McNamara(C), Dave Curran(Nathan O’ Connell 52), George Keating(Alex Lynch 84), Ciarán Griffin, Michael O’ Rourke(Danny Gibson 74), Dave O’ Sullivan(Tom Noonan 52).
