The junior A team returned to winning ways in the league with this impressive performance against Kilreen on the Stephen Ireland Astroturf on Saturday evening. Luke Stavrianos opened the scoring after only nine minutes with a right foot free kick that swung across the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net. Wanderers were well on top and added a second after 32 minutes. A good cross from the left was met with an unstoppable headed by Butch Fingleton. Luke Stavrianos grabbed his second and Wanderers third just two minutes after the break when he slotted past the keeper after running onto a defence-splitting pass. The goal of the game was worth the wait until the 59th minute. It was a screamer from 35 yards by Butch that flew over the keeper and dipped into the roof of the net. A goal to grace any game….Butch doesn’t do tap-ins! Well done to all involved.
Team: Michael McCall Walsh, Farrell O’ Connor, Ricky Parker, James Langan, Patrick ‘Butch’ Fingleton, Paul Ronan, Josh Furmedge(Robson Mugabe 61), Dave Devlin, Chris Moynihan(Dave Cummins 61), Luke Stavrianos, Dylan Sheridan.
Scorers: Luke Stavrianos 9&47, Patrick Fingleton 32&59
