The senior team came away with their first draw in the league today with a one all score line against Corinthians. Wanderers first real chance fell to captain Dylan McNamara whose effort from just inside the box went a couple of feet over the crossbar on 23 minutes. On 36 minutes Ciarán Griffin pounced on a lucky break as the Cor’s defender got the ball caught under his feet and lost possession. Ciarán went through and planted a left foot effort to the far corner of the net. Wanderers seemed well in control before losing the ball on half way in the 48th minute and Corinthians worked the ball up the pitch before driving an effort past Mark Power in the Wanderers goal. There were few clear-cut chances in the remaining minutes of the game for either side to grab all three points. Wanderers will consider this result as two points dropped in their pursuit of Rockmount at the top of the table.
Team: Mark Power, Dave Curran, Dave O’ Sullivan(Danny Gibson 90), Sean Cummins, Adam O’ Sullivan, Dylan McNamara, George Keating(Stuart O’ Rourke 84), Nathan O’ Connell, Ciarán Griffin, Michael O’ Rourke(Mikey Foley 84), Diarmuid Kearney.
Scorer: Ciarán Griffin 36
